NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

If you are planning to go to graduate school, then I highly recommend you consider the NSF graduate research fellowship program. The program pays a very healthy stipend (at least from a graduate student salary level).

See the solicitation for applications for 2011 for more details.

Some salient points:

  • The deadline is November 18, 2010 for CSE.
  • To apply you have to be a US citizen/permanent resident, have plans for graduate study. There are also restrictions on when you can apply. Typically, either (i) you are a senior; (ii) are between graduation and grad school or (iii) finished at most 1.5 years in graduate school. To see the exact rules, study the solicitation.

If you have more questions, talk to Sridhar, me or any other CSE faculty in the grduate program that you know. Or feel free to use the comments section.
